QLD RWC - Safety Certificates & Roadworthiness in Queensland
Safety Certificates in Woodridge
A safety certificate is needed when a registered light vehicle is offered for sale in Queensland. It confirms that a vehicle has passed a minimum safety standard inspection.
Underwood Car Care in Woodridge are an Approved Inspection Station. An approved inspection station is a business that has been specifically trained, assessed and fully approved by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads to inspect and, where appropriate, issue safety certificates.
A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection. It is an inspection to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate on the road only. For a more detailed investigation into the overall condition of a vehicle you should consider a much more specific Pre-Purchase Inspection.
It is also important to note that a Safety Certificate does not constitute a complete assessment of a vehicle's compliance with the Standards for Registration. These standards are generally governed by the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and are often beyond the scope of a Safety Certificate Inspection.
When do you need a safety certificate?
You must display a safety certificate on a registered light vehicle from the moment you offer it for sale, including when you:
- list the vehicle for sale online
- display that it is for sale in public
- drive the car with a sign in the window indicating it is for sale
